More Info

Student Enrichment Program Head – Supports enrichment program leads by answering questions, helping with planning, and keeping things organized. The board will provide all the info you need about the subcommittees under your care. Acts as a backup if a lead isn’t available. Great for someone who likes to stay behind the scenes but make things happen!

  • Afterschool Enrichment Lead
    • Moderate commitment — you’ll help organize twice a year, with about 4–6 hours of work each time. Easy to fit in and a great way to make a difference!
  • Digital Wellness Lead
    • A new program — commitment level is still being figured out. Come help us shape something fresh!
  • Monthly Playdates
    • A low-pressure, fun role! Organize monthly play dates—outdoors at local playgrounds in the warmer months and indoors at the nZone when it’s cold. Planning and promotion take just 1–2 hours a month, and the events are always a hit with families!
  • 6th Grade Luncheon
    • A big, important event that takes some solid time—about 2–6 hours a month starting in January, ramping up as the May/June celebration gets closer. You’ll get to lead and coordinate subcommittees, especially if we keep it at school. We’re also open to fun field trip ideas to lighten the load!

Community Engagement Program Head – Helps community engagement leads by offering support, assisting with planning, and keeping everything on track. The board will share all the details you need about the groups you oversee. Steps in as a backup if a lead isn’t available. Ideal for someone who likes to quietly make a big impact!

  • Spirit Sales
    • This role is getting a fun refresh! Medium commitment—low pressure, but we’re hoping to offer spirit wear more often. You’ll team up with our vendor to manage the online store and keep items stocked for events and occasional monthly sales. A great fit if you’re excited to help boost school spirit in a new way!
  • This Is Us
    • Our very own multicultural celebration! Higher commitment, but totally manageable with 2–3 people (no subcommittees needed!). Prep starts 2–3 months out and is mostly advertising and coordination—just 1–2 hours here and there at first, with things picking up closer to the event. A great way to help showcase our amazing community!
  • Veteran’s Breakfast
    • A once-a-year event with a big impact and low commitment. The school leads the celebration—PTA just handles the brunch! Prep starts about two weeks out to line up volunteers and preorder food. Most of the work happens the morning of the event. Simple, meaningful, and done in a day!

Staff Support Program Head – Provides behind-the-scenes support to staff-focused program leads—helping with coordination, planning, and general logistics. The board will make sure you have everything you need to guide the committees you oversee. May step in to assist if a lead isn’t available. A great fit for someone who enjoys organizing and making sure our staff feels appreciated!

  • Staff Meals
    • Low time commitment, big impact! PTA hosts staff lunches 2–3 times a year (typically first day of school and midyear). You’ll touch base with the front office for headcount and coordinate with catering—just 2–3 hours of work per lunch. A simple way to make our staff feel celebrated!
  • Teacher Appreciation Week
    • High commitment, but one of the most fun and rewarding events of the year! You’ll start planning 2–3 months ahead and help coordinate several subcommittees. Don’t worry—the board will provide all the docs, details, and a working schedule to guide you. A great fit for someone who loves planning big, feel-good celebrations!
  • National Staff Holidays
    • A new initiative to celebrate often-overlooked staff on their nationally recognized appreciation days—think nurses, librarians, social workers, and more. This is a fresh effort, so there’s room for creativity and new ideas!

Fundraising Program Head – Oversees the committees that help raise money for PTA programs and events. You’ll support committee leads, help with planning, and keep things running smoothly. The board will provide all the tools and info you need, and you may be asked to step in and lead any committees without a lead. Perfect for someone who loves turning ideas into action and driving results!

  • Dining Days
    • Low commitment, easy to manage! Coordinate with local restaurants to set up fundraising nights—most will provide a flyer, but you can make one if needed. Just promote with printouts and social media. Takes about 1–2 hours every other month. Tasty way to support our PTA!
  • School Supply Kits
    • A once-a-year project with a moderate time commitment (about 4–6 hours). You’ll work with our vendor, teachers, and front office to finalize grade-level supply lists. The vendor uses these to offer pre-packaged kits for parents, and the front office posts the lists on the school website. A great way to help simplify back-to-school shopping!
  • Hallowingo
    • One of the two biggest events and the top fundraiser of the year! Prep starts in August and continues steadily all the way to event day. You’ll organize several subcommittees and handle plenty of advertising. The board will share all the info and resources you need to guide you through. This is definitely a heavy time commitment—but also one of the most rewarding ways to make a big impact on the school and PTA!
  • 6th Grade Basketball Game
    • Our other biggest event of the year—and a major driver of school spirit! This one comes with a heavy time commitment. It starts off slow with securing Chantilly High early in the year, then picks up in November with planning practices, sign-up lists, and more. Things really ramp up as the game approaches in March or April. You’ll manage several subcommittees, but don’t worry—you’ll have plenty of help, and the board will provide detailed documentation to guide you every step of the way!
  • Sponsorship Coordinator
    • A new initiative focused on building strong relationships with local businesses. You’ll offer sponsorship packages in exchange for donations—helping fund PTA programs while giving businesses a chance to advertise. Great for someone who enjoys connecting with people and making community partnerships happen!
