Clarice is a Fairfax County native, growing up in the Fairfax/Clifton/Centreville area and attending Fairfax High School. After graduating from Virginia Tech, life’s twists and turns led her back to her childhood community that she now calls home. She and her husband, along with their three boys, joined the Lees Corner Community in 2021. Her oldest son was just promoted to middle school, and her two younger sons are currently in 2nd and 5th grade at LCES. For the last two decades, Clarice worked in the public health sector. She began her career as an academic public health researcher for George Mason University, Virginia Tech, and the National University of Singapore. She later transferred to consulting and advising the government on military public health matters. Most recently, she embarked on a professional sabbatical to spend more time with her boys. As a PTA parent, she volunteered in key roles for Hallowingo, Veteran’s Day Brunch, and Movie Night. When her eldest was in 6th grade, she made significant contributions for the 6th Grade Basketball Game and the 6th Grade Luncheon. Her data analysis and management skills have proven an exceptional addition to the PTA, enhancing its timely planning, effective delegation, and successful event execution. Furthermore, her interests in arts and crafts have proved useful by enhancing decor and minimizing expenses for the 6th Grade Luncheon. As Treasurer, she is excited to help the PTA effectively manage the budget, provide the LCES community transparent information, and bring structure to processes. She looks forward to building community relationships and meeting new families. In her (extremely scarce) free time, Clarice can be found painting, cooking/baking, or quilting/sewing at home; hiking all the wonderful trails around the county with her boys; or cheering on her sons at local soccer/baseball/basketball games and swim meets.
